Things Feeling A Bit Overblown

October 1st, 2009 | by jruss |

So I spent some time this evening reading through blog after blog, tweet after tweet and article after article about how the Warriors are in a state of “disarray”. I have to admit, it’s pretty easy to get caught up in the drama (see Days of Our Lives post I made two days ago). But, after watching some interviews, hearing Monta backpedal a bit on his earlier comments about not playing with Curry and reading things in context, I am not nearly as concerned as I was on Media Day.

Jax wanting a trade to a winner still stings a bit, but bottom line is, if he wants a trade along with his contract to a contender, he has got to prove he’s worth it on the court. I think Jax this year will be a key role player but not the central focus of the offense and with his contract, he may not be as easy to move.

I have been reading that Monta looks unstoppable…on offense, Curry looks smooth and under control, and Morrow has been practicing with the first team. All three of those guys can light it up!! I don’t think Jackson needs to force things on the offensive side but can play to his strengths, like exploiting mismatches, hitting open threes and the occasional drive to the bucket. I would give the likelihood of a Jax trade right now at 20% (based on a scientific assessment that I cannot reveal). Now if you threw in another guy or two (like Monta), that could be different.

Call me a cock-eyed optimist, or a blind faith fan, but I actually think things are much smoother than it is being made out to be. I think in a few this “drama” will all be a distant memory (serenity now, serenity now, serenity now).
