Ranking the W’s in Fantasy Basketball

October 19th, 2009 | by jruss |

As the regular season quickly approaches, more many of us that can only mean one thing… Fantasy Basketball Draft. So, I want online to ESPN to see their position and overall FBB rankings to see how the Warriors are faring on the list. So below is a list of Warriors ranked by their overall position and then by their position ranking.

37 Overall – Monta Ellis (10th ranked PG and 9th ranked SG)
45 Overall – Stephen Jackson (11th ranked SG, 13th ranked SF)
46 Overall – Andris Biedrins (11th ranked C)
90 Overall – Anthony Randolph (25th ranked SF, 31st ranked PF)
134 Overall – Corey Maggette (40th ranked SF)
147 Overall – Ronny Turiaf (44th ranked PF, 35th ranked C)
149 Overall – Stephen Curry (39th ranked SG, 39th ranked PG)
160 Overall – Kelenna Azubuike (45th ranked SF)
167 Overall – Anthony Morrow (46th ranked SG)

Here are my 5 reactions:
1. Only one Warrior cracked the top 10 in any position with Monta at #10 as a PG and #9 as a SG
2. Someone is going to get one helluva steal in Anthony Morrow as the 46th ranked SG
3. I would be very surprised if 39 small forwards average more fantasy points than Maggette
4. I think Azubuike is going to pay off as a later pick as well
5. I wouldn’t pick Randolph too high, but I do think he’s going to perform better than then as the 31st best PF or even the 25th best SF)

Looks like the Warriors are going to have to earn their fantasy respect…
