Have the Warriors Hit Rock Bottom?
December 14th, 2009 | by jruss |Unfortunately, I think the answer is no. But it sure feels like it right now. Despite hanging around in Detroit and Chicago (in Overtime), the Warriors got blown out in what should have been the most winnable game on their road trip. Even with the signing of AI, Philadelphia was one of the NBA’s doormats – not tonight.
I turned the game off early out of disgust. It’s hard to get emotionally caught up in a game where Monta shoots 3-14. I guess the positives we can take away are:
1. Devean George is alive. And he scored 9 points. That’s something
2. Maggette made his free throws tonight, 13 out of 15 in fact
3. Well, at least I came up with two…
Even though we’re not even half-way through the season, I’m going to have to temper my expectations with this team. Perhaps I can focus on the “Monta All-Star” train, although tonight definitely hurt his case. It will be nice to see what this team looks like when Biedrins comes back, which shouldn’t be too long now. Anyway, tonight was a tough pill to swallow. And, since the Warriors have a tendency of making at least one person on the other team look like LeBron James, I think Thaddeous Young owes the W’s a thank-you gift.
