No Surprise: No Ellis
January 28th, 2010 | by jruss |The All-Star reserves were announced today and, as it did not surprise most, Monta Ellis did not make the list.
Was I pulling for Monta to make it? OF COURSE!
Did I think he had a chance? NOT REALLY
The West is so stacked with great guards. You cannot argue Kobe, Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Brandon Roy, or even Deron Williams. I think many would argue that Chauncey Billups deserved to make the team.
Add that to the fact that the Warriors can’t win and that Ellis hasn’t delivered in clutch situations this year and you’ve got another year removed from Latrell Sprewell… the Warriors last All-Star representative. As shocking as that is, it is true.
Unless the W’s trade for Amar’e Stoudamire, who has already been selected to the All-Star team, it looks like the all-star futility continues.
