Slap in the Face

The NBA’s ugliest man, Chris Kaman (replacing Sam Cassel in that category) has been named an All-star replacement for Brandon Roy instead of Monta Ellis. To be fair, the Clippers are 21-29, which is definitely better than the Warriors record of 13-36. Kaman is also averaging 20 points and 9 rebounds a game, which is very good. But come on! Is Kaman’s addition to the all-star game really based on his merits this year? He’s got a much better supporting cast than Monta does. He’s got Baron, Camby and Eric Gordon.

First off, no it’s not Monta Ellis – not yet and probably not at all. However, rookie Stephen Curry has been selected to represent the Rookie team in the annual Rookie/Sophomore game.

Updated Player Headlines

Back on October 15 of 2009, I listed every Warriors player on the roster and gave each one my predicted end-of-the-year headline. Basically, when the season is over, what is each player’s headline going to be. Since we are halfway through the season, I am going to take a new look at each one and revise those headlines.

The Golden State Gimpy’s

With what-could-have-been Brandon Jennings and his Milwaukee Bucks coming into town tonight, the Warriors will be without the services of Ronny Turiaf, CJ Watson and Vladimir Radmonovic. Can’t say I’m torn up over no V-Rad but Ronny being out hurts, especially since Biedrins has been playing way under his potential and CJ being out isn’t great from a depth standpoint.

Time To Eat Crow

When I attended the Warriors/Pacers game earlier in the year I said out loud to my dad sitting next me during an abysmal first quarter, “Corey Maggette is a total scrub. The guy is garbage.” Of course I was just mad about how the whole team was playing and I focused my anger on Maggette.

That Was Foul

If you watched the Warriors lose in Warriors-like fashion to the Denver Nuggets 122-123 Tuesday night, then I’m sure you saw “the play”. If you didn’t, then I’m sure you saw the highlights on SportsCenter. If you didn’t then I’m sure you can imagine it.

Warriors Nearly Meaningless News

Mikki Moore was cut today by the Warriors in an effort to keep D-League center, Chris Hunter. Moore will be remembered for lots of things but mostly in my mind for living up to the title of “stiff” that I gave him when I watched him play on teams like Detroit, Utah, Clippers, Nets, Kings (and three others). Way to go, Mikki. You lived up to my expectations.
